How did you meet
your oldest friend?
Ask people how they met their oldest friend and the answers are rarely grand. Sat next to each other on the first day of school. Shared a desk at work for a year. Stood at the same bus stop every morning, or at the back of the same terrible party.
Nobody at the time thought, this one will last. It was just someone to talk to. Then the years stacked up, and here they still are, the one person who knows the old stories and does not need them explained.
Most of the people who matter most came in by the side door.
