The Middle of the Day
You do not have to have an opinion about everything.
There is a quiet pressure to have a view ready on everything. The programme everyone watched. The falling-out at work that has nothing to do with you. The thing that happened somewhere else, to people you will never meet.
Most of it you have not thought about properly, and you are not going to. You are working from a headline and whatever the last person said to you.
“I do not know enough about that to say” is a whole sentence. It costs nothing, and it hands you back an afternoon.
Plenty of things deserve your attention. Very few deserve your verdict.
This page is not help, and I am not qualified to give it.
If you are struggling, please ring one of these. Both are better at it than anything on the internet, this page included.
