The Daily Question

What were you frightened of
that does not frighten you now?

Fear moves. What frightened you ten years ago is mostly not what frightens you now, and one or two of the old ones you would struggle to explain to yourself today.

The phone ringing. Driving somewhere you had never been. Saying you did not understand, in a room full of people who seemed to. Being alone in a house at night.

Nobody argued you out of any of it. You did the thing enough times that it went quiet.

Worth holding on to, if something is frightening you this week. It is not a fixed part of you. It is only where you have got to so far.

So — what were you frightened of that does not frighten you now?

If you are struggling, please ring one of these. Both are better at it than anything on the internet, this page included.
