The Daily Question
What do you do the long way round,
on purpose?
Everything has a shorter version now, and most of the time we take it. The quick route, the message instead of the call, the shop that comes to the door.
But nearly everyone keeps one thing back. The way home that adds ten minutes and passes the water. Washing up by hand with a machine sitting right there. Writing it out on paper first. Walking down for one item you could have added to the big order. Going round the far gate of the park because the dog likes that end of it.
None of it is inefficiency, whatever it looks like from outside. It is the part of the day you have kept for yourself, and you would notice if somebody took it off you tomorrow.
So — what do you do the long way round, on purpose?
This page is not help, and I am not qualified to give it.
If you are struggling, please ring one of these. Both are better at it than anything on the internet, this page included.
This one is on the things we keep. There are four others.
