The Middle of the Day
The advice you keep giving
is usually the advice you need.
Listen to yourself the next time a friend tells you what they are worried about.
You will say something sensible. Ring them. Go to bed. It is not as bad as it looks at eleven at night. Ask for help — nobody minds being asked.
You mean every word of it. And you have not done a single one of those things yourself this month.
It is not hypocrisy. It is that we see other people's situations from the outside, where the shape of the thing is obvious, and our own from the inside, where everything looks more complicated than it is.
Take the last piece of advice you gave somebody, and try it on.
This page is not help, and I am not qualified to give it.
If you are struggling, please ring one of these. Both are better at it than anything on the internet, this page included.
This one is on other people. There are twelve others.
