The Middle of the Day
Out of practice is not the same
as no good at it.
You came back to it after a long gap, it went badly, and you drew the obvious conclusion.
It is the wrong conclusion. The first attempt after a break measures nothing except the length of the break. The instrument, the handwriting, the school French, the conversation with someone you have not rung in two years — all of it is stiff at the start, and most of it loosens faster than you would believe.
Give it the third go before you decide anything.
This page is not help, and I am not qualified to give it.
If you are struggling, please ring one of these. Both are better at it than anything on the internet, this page included.
This one is on starting again. There are four others.
